I have done the things most home business owners in Network Marketing have done and continue to do. I buy leads and make calls. A lot of calls! I employ the three-foot rule as well. You know, if someone is within three feet, I start talking with them.

Using these strategies over the past twenty-five years, I have met with varying degrees of success in my home business within the MLM Industry, from flat out failure to skyrocketing success. However, I have noticed some drawbacks with these methods. Mind you, I am not knocking these strategies for building a home business. For some people they work well. However, I have begun to find them limiting in a number of ways.

Buying leads can get expensive. I could have been around the world a couple times with all the money I have spent on leads. Plus, I really do not have control over the quality of the leads or the number of times the leads have been sold to other home business owners. Some leads I have purchased come to me by way of the survey method. People go online and fill out some survey which asks about being in, or starting a home business. Many reply they would like that, but in fact, have no real interest or intention of starting a home business. I know because I have talked to hundreds of them. I guess they think it sounds good, and somewhere in the back of their minds, they probably would like a home business of their own.

The three-foot rule is quite limiting in the number of people I can talk to. I am disabled -40% the government says- and I do not get around like I used to. So, it is simply a matter of not being able to see or talk to many people these days. As we all know, to grow our home business we need to talk to a lot of people. It is truly the proverbial numbers game.

I have decided to increase the numbers of leads I get and to have more control over the quality of the leads. I am employing online marketing strategies for virtually all my lead generation activities to build my home business. I have just started working one of the methods and it is showing great promise. I am also in the early stages of setting up several other systems. I expect good results from these systems too. In fact, I envision myself never making a cold-call again. Imagine how cool that would be!
