A hundred years ago, black dresses were worn to mourn the dearly departed. This all changed when Coco Chanel reinvented the basic black dress into the little black dress.

That was Elizabeth Hurley’s Versace outfit at the 1994 premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral. It was literally a little black dress, and it certainly is unforgettable, no matter how badly criticized it was back then.
