Have you ever been surfing the Internet and been inundated with pop-up after pop-up? Have you ever opened your web browser and noticed a new tool-bar sitting conspiciously on the top of the window? Have you noticed your computer becoming slower and slower? If you answered yes to any of these question, then your computer is probably infected with spyware.

It’s nearly impossible to use the Internet and not end up with some sort of unwanted and often malicious guest on your machine. In fact, you’ll most definitely end up with more than one on your computer at any one time. Some studies have shown that upwards of 90% of computer users have or have had some form of spyware on their machines.

Twenty years back most companies the world over had no choice but to use custom developed software. Custom Software developed for self use provided the only means of mapping and automating the business processes within. Large IT teams typically were hard at work developing customized software for business users. These were well before the days of software outsourcing.

-I have nothing against the Zune, I’ll have to try it. This article is based on what Microsoft has made public-

Is Apple afraid? Not trying to be a fanboy here but the quick answer is no. What’s the real question you might say? The one and only speculation Microsoft wants us all to cling on: Is the upcoming Zune the iPod killer? Hmm let me ponder on that one really quickly….

People used to close business deals with a handshake.

They looked one another in the eye. Today, more and more transactions are electronic, anonymous and, in too many cases, fraudulent. Any organization that stores or moves important information on an electronic network is putting its information at risk. A criminal on the other side of the world or an apparently loyal employee may have the ability to wreak havoc, by stealing, deleting or exposing confidential information.

The Computer Crime and Security Survey, conducted by the Computer Security Institute and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, indicates almost two-thirds of the large corporations and government agencies it surveyed lost money when their computer security broke down.

The most valuable assets of any business organization regardless of it size is its data! Operator can make mistakes, a hard disk failure, a virus, natural disasters, theft or loss of a laptop - can all too easily put this data and therefore the business at risk.

Storing backup data offsite is a secure, simple and affordable alternative to a traditional tape backup solution.

Tape backup can offer a possible solution, but it also comes with many draw backs. They need upfront investment, maintenance, and internal staff to maintain and operate them. All these come at a cost. Tape backups can be a hassle - especially during a crisis when key data is to be recovered without delay.

Computer data recovery is a booming industry right now. Computer data recovery is an invaluable service when performed by trained, experienced technicians. Computer data recovery is a tenuous prospect at best.

Data

Data is stored in the most commonly used storage devices, such as: hard disks, micro drives, multiple disks, tape/digital linear tapes, CD/DVDs, portable drives, Magneto Optical storage devices, removable disks, Zip drives, diskettes, compact flash/memory cards, and USB flash drives. Data recovery is a method of retrieving the lost data due to physical damage to the system or due to the logical damage to the application software. Data recovery also helps to retrieve even deleted information for forensic investigation. Data recovery is mostly used by big business, covert army activities, police authorities and tax authorities.

I recently learned a much quicker way to use my web browser for comparative research activities. It should be no surprise that I learned this “better way of browsing” from my 20-something office intern (they always seem to know the coolest computer tricks – it is probably worth having them around just to stay computer “trendy”.)

The software industry has achieved such a degree of maturity that lines of codes are almost commoditised. Think of a problem, and there is a solution available for that very issue. You could take a low-cost option and look for online software directories such as download dot com.

However, with that approach, you will often find that the solution is not ideal. And, for any business, “almost there” is just not good enough. There are times when you will need a piece of software written from scratch. At other times, you might simply want help to tweak an existing application to make it run with your latest business software.
