It’s delicious to feel well nourished in relationships. There’s a yearning and hunger we bring to our partners for all kinds of food: warmth, kindness, appreciation, time spent together. However, when food is not forthcoming or not enough, some will do anything to get fed. Right from the moment we are born, we connect being fed with being loved.

Many become fixated on one person, who they see as their sole source of well-being. The first thing to notice is the intense desire for receiving. This is the idea of the child - feed me and all will be well.

One of the greatest satisfaction of shoppers (yes, guys included) is when you have bargained for a better deal when visiting a flea market, garage sale, electronics mall and even a real estate dealership. You love to haggle and get a sense of accomplishment when you get a good deal. But you may be surprised to learn that this ‘enjoyable’ practice has an effect on the Law of Attraction in your life.

When you are going about your normal daily business, in a 24-hour period your brain will naturally cycle through four predominant states (sometimes called brainwave states).

The first and most relaxed state is called ‘delta,’ which is around 1-3hz. You experience this when you are in an extremely deep, dreamless sleep.

One step up from delta is called ‘theta.’ Theta is a very dreamy state that you will experience during normal dreaming while you are asleep, and theta is characterized by 4-7hz brainwave activity.

There are people out there who are… oh, how can I diplomatically put this?… ready, willing and able to drive the sanest, most patient person on Planet Earth absolutely and positively NUTS.

Whether it’s your annoying Aunt Ethel (“When I was a girl I knew the value of a dollar!”); your curmudgeon of a boss (“I said I needed that report YESTERDAY, damn it!”), or your well-meaning but clearly misguided sister (“Shouldn’t you try bangs? You can’t see the wrinkles that way…”), the result is the same: Their insensitive, unfair or poorly chosen words make you feel like yesterday’s dinner — rotten.

“If the cloth had its own fixed, unchangeable self essence, it could not be made from the thread…the cloth comes from the thread and the thread from the flax…It is just like the … burning and the burned. They are brought together under certain conditions, and thus there takes place a phenomenon called burning…each has no reality of its own. For when one is absent the other is put out of existence. It is so with all things in this world, they are empty, without self, without absolute existence. They are like the will-o’-the-wisp.”

We live in a world of hard knocks, a world where we can learn and progress and gain knowledge. We grow from the many experiences we have in life. Many times our sorrows and problems help us to understand another person’s sorrow. When we go through similar trials, then we are more sympathetic to others.

Eugene Hansen said, “I heard my father remark on more than one occasion, ‘I don’t mind being educated in the school of hard knocks—it’s the refresher courses I keep getting that are the trial.’”

The ocean is full of sea life and those that die are washed up on the shore to be eaten by the seagulls. It is not much different in society. Men and Women are basically lovers and when they no longer can play the game they are cast out of the ocean. And like washed up sea life they become useless to others and even to themselves. Most are left to dry out in the hot sun of retirement villages. The rest die alone in dark rooms. But fortunately there are no seagulls to devour them; they are buried in grave yards.

Many people are used to thinking that the Law of Attraction is something mysterious and it is a mythical quality that you either have or do not have. But do you know that this Attraction Law actually instructs us that we can choose to be lucky?

If you look up the dictionary, luck is defined as “a chance or good fortune“. But if you have been a student of the Law of Attraction for any time, you will know that chance has little to do with it. The outcome of our situations are the results of our emotions, our beliefs, thoughts and actions and not some random act of fate.

…..Hope you had a good rest and are all fired up for the year ahead.

…..Originally we were going to spend a few days in Queensland and ended up staying home. An interesting situation occurred which at the time I was unaware of. Three days before Christmas I caught up with an old acquaintance whom I hadn’t seen for a couple of years and asked him what he had been doing.

We are all searching for one answer or another. We never stop. With our last breath we may very well be asking: What happens next?

And yet some people live with calm and authority over their lives, while others either hide from life or spend $5,000 for weekends with bearded gurus, or are addicted to self -help books, especially those with the word “secret” in the title.

The bad news is that you will never have all of the answers.
