Since its inception, Google Adwords has provided webmasters and internet marketers a shot at getting their site at the top of the search engine listings, with very little time or effort.

Much like other search engine pay per click marketing schemes (seen also on Yahoo, Overture), Google Adwords publishers place ‘bids’ on popular search terms in order to secure their placement in the search results, when the term they have bidded for is searched on.

Bids cost money however, with prices varying according to popularity and how many other webmasters are bidding on the same search term. This adds a new dimension to the Google Adwords game.

For people trying to make sales through Google Adwords, prices of each bid aren’t the only thing that need to be considered. The ‘conversion rate’ i.e. how many visitors actually end up buying from your site is a constant concern, because in Google Adwords clicks mean money. Obviously, to increase your conversion rate you need to be bidding on the correct search terms, but what are they, and how do you find them out?

As you can see from the above, Google Adwords is a complicated internet marketing game with many nuances and pitfalls for the newbie and experienced marketer alike. This fact opened up yet another avenue for internet marketers to exploit: Adwords instructional E-Books.

While many of these E-Books are complete trash, others are incredibly informative and useful. You may think that by buying these E-Books you are simply wasting your money, but I can tell you now that you are wrong. You stand to lose alot more than you will ever gain by trying to perfect Adwords techniques on your own.

So the smart thing to do is find a legitimate Adwords Tutorial, and follow the guidelines in that until you see results. But how can you tell whether an Adwords Tutorial is legitimate or not? Common signs of a scam:

- Excessive hypey language.
- Emphasis on the amounts of money earned using their ‘method’.
- Unclear explanation of what their method actually does.
- Blatantly outrageous claims i.e. “Complete Nobody Makes $80 Million in 2 weeks With Adwords!”

It’s a jungle out there, make sure you don’t get hunted and taken in by the scamsters.
